Herohammer Campaign Pt. 1

Deployment

In the first match of the Aggression Campaign, the Night Goblins and the Undead face off – the battle lines shown below:

There were few magic items in evidence in any of the army lists, but the Goblins recieved a slight concession in the Crown of Command on their leader, and a Dread Banner for use among their units. The Shaman drew ‘Hand of Gork’ and ‘Eadbutt’ for his spells, while the Vampire drew ‘Curse of Years’.

The initial couple of turns were fairly nondescript with both armies converging along the table centerline:

The Shaman used Hand of Gork a few times in the battle to shove unwilling goblins into close combat with their fear-causing adversaries, and was able to knock a few wounds off the Vampire with Eadbutt.

The Giant made a bee-line for the Vampire Count’s unit of horse and went down swinging:

The Shaman skulked around with his pet Trolls. goading them onwards to battle:

At the pivotal point, the units had moved like so:

While the Wolfriders were able to destroy their opposing horse, the ghoul flank-charge caused them to flee (and subsequently flee off the table), but the yellow-robed Goblin Archers passed all of their leadership tests and bogged down that wing while the trolls chewed through the Skeletons:

On the other flank, the Spear goblins are Hand of Gorked into the skeletons but fail to make an impact, and while in combat are flank charged by the ghosts – and despite not losing a single greenskin in combat they flee and are run down.

Whisked from the battlefield with an ‘Escape’ card after taking one too many giant clubs to the face, the Vampire Lord reappears behind the Goblin lines – his final gambit is to cut down the Shaman with his own hands – but is unable to so do!

Aftermath

After the dust clears at the end of Turn 6, the Tale of the Tape is as follows – the Goblins control 1 table quarter and have six victory points for defeated units – while the Undead have three victory points for defeated units and control no table quarters – a victory for the greenskins!

This means the Undead are conquered by the Green tide!
