Last year I missed every single in-person event I attempted apart from one game of Man-o-War and one game of squad weirdos – so I am making a concerted effort in 2026 to right that wrong. The first event of the year is early, a big game of Warhammer 4th Edition, an example of what to expect is shown at the same game being played at Bring Out Your Lead 2025:

Thought I’ve had my eye on Slann for a few years, for a single unit to play in the game I wanted something achievable and limited in scope, even if it’s not really part of an army I wish to collect long-term. The answer was simple, the Fimir:

As far as I know, these were a race borne out of Heroquest – and I was fortunate enough to find an assortment of STL files of the original Fimir model re-meshed and modified to create a unit. They were quickly printed and set on a regiment base:

A very quick coat of speedpaints and some metallics yielded this:

I reckon these could easily by represented by Black Orcs in 4th-6th Edition Warhammer Fantasy rules, with a Shaman of some sort. Either that or maybe Beastmen? To be confirmed…
